ABOUT ME: I graduated Humboldt State University in 2011 with a BA in Studio Art. Throughout my life, I also studied Multimedia, Animation, and Graphic Design. I studied with professional artists abroad to further refine my work in painting and visionary art, working with various healing paths, before I was handed a tattoo machine and taught some basics in a bungalo in Venice Beach. Self-taught, I sought to work in a tattoo shop to further improve my skills, and have stayed with that path for nearly 7 years now.
“Faelien” is a word I made up. It is a combination of Fae (as in Fairy) and Alien (as in extra terrestrial?) It’s sort of a summary of how I often feel living in these incredible times; like I feel as an outsider to society and the overculture, but not alien to the earth.
Things I like to tattoo:
Nature, Crystals, Fungi, Floral, Insects, Animals
Ornamental
Surreal and Psychedelic themes
Celestial or Visionary themes
Geometry, Op Art, Dotwork, & Ornamental
Goddesses and Myth, ladies and portraits
I enjoy working in ^ Fine Line, ^ Illustrative, ^ Blackwork, ^ Ornamental, and ^ Black and Grey. I do some color work, but prefer black & grey usually.
I am grateful for your interest in having me permanently ink your body forever (hopefully), and appreciate anyone wanting to work with me. Something I have found over the past several years of tattooing is that the best work comes when having a lot of creative freedom to interpret your ideas the way that I see them, or at the very least, you having a very loose grasp on what it needs to be in order to let it become better than you imagined.
I am very intuitive, and highly visual. It’s like a movie inside my head. Sometimes when you’re talking I will just see things and get ideas. Utilize this to your advantage.
In 2023 I am looking to take on larger scale (sleeves, backs, chests) as well as medium-scale 1-2 session pieces (3-4 hour) pieces.
